What to bring to your next appointment
September 12, 2026 · 5 min read
Appointments are short. What you bring decides how much of that time goes to decisions instead of reconstructing the last three months from memory.
Bring a summary, not a spreadsheet
- Your readings over the last 2-4 weeks, with the average and the range.
- Days that were unusual, and why.
- A current list of medicines and supplements, with doses and any you have missed or stopped.
- New or changed symptoms, with dates.
Pick three questions
Write them down and ask the most important one first. Useful examples: What should my target be? Is this medicine doing what we hoped? What change would mean I should call you?
Before you leave
- Repeat the plan back in your own words.
- Confirm what to monitor and how often.
- Confirm which readings should trigger a call, and which mean emergency care.
Today's Vitals builds this summary for you — a vitals timeline, medicines, and editable questions you can print or send to your care team.
